MY GURU GAUTAM GURU

ONCE UPON A TIME, 2550 years ago, something amazing had happened.

Parmtma Mahavir Swami reached the state of enlightenment called Kevalgyan (Omniscience – Enlightenment, Complete understanding or Supreme Wisdom). Kevalgyan is a special kind of knowledge with which you can see all the three worlds and Alok, all at the same time.

To celebrate this momentous occasion of Kevalgyan Kalyanak (Enlightenment Celebration) of Paramatma Mahavir Swami, heavenly beings called Devendras from Devloka and Narendras from Manushyaloka came down to Earth.

They gathered in a place called Pavapuri on the second day after Mahavir Swami's Kevalgyan. The day was: Vaishakh Sud-11. The morning sun illuminated the scene as the devendras prepared the Samavasaran where thousands of people gathered. It was here that Lord Mahavir Swami addressed the crowd with his divine words of wisdom.

The Samavasaran was made up of three levels. The lowest level was made of silver, the middle level was made of gold, and the fort where Mahavir Swami sat was made of precious diamonds. He sat on a beautifully decorated throne under a sacred Ashoka tree, ready to deliver his sermon.
