Pooja Perfect - jin pooja, bhav pooja, What to do and what not to do while doing Chaitya Vandan in Derasar?

Home > Magazine > English Magazine > > Pooja Perfect

Bhave Jinvar Pujiye

After offering swastik, naivedya and Fal Pooja, to the parmatma, one should definitely perform the Chaityavandan. Just as performing the abhishek of the parmatma is considered pooja, similarly, performing Chaityavandan is also a form of pooja. Worship done with substances like water and saffron is referred to as Dravya pooja. (Photo - write 'Dravya Pooja below.)

Worship performed with the Chaityavandan- Stuti – Stavana is called Bhav Pooja. (Photo - write 'Bhaav Pooja’ below.)

Before performing Chaityavandan – Bhaav Pooja...

(1) Before starting Chaityavandan, one should recite the third 'Nisihi'. This means that one should not think even about the pooja Dravya of prabhu anymore. Forget everything, including naivedya, and focus solely on the stuti and stavan of the parmatma.

(2) During Chaityavandan, do not engage in conversations, gestures, or distractions. We should keep our full attention on the parmatma.

(3) Understand the meanings of the Chaityavandan sutra. Having an awareness of the meanings while reciting the sutra, awakens the sentiment, bhaav.

(4) Memorize new Chaityvandana, stavan, and stuti. This will enhance the joy of devotion to the parmatma.

(5) The benefit of the Bhav Pooja is infinitely greater than Dravya Pooja. Therefore, do not be lazy or hesitant in performing Chaityavandan.
