Out of 12 qualities of Arihant Parmatma, we learned about 8 Qualities = 8 Pratiharyas. Now let's understand the remaining 4 attributes i.e. 4 Atishay today.

4 Atishay

Atishay = superlative, the very best, Superior

Arihant Parmatma possesses 4 virtues that are best, superior to anything else in the entire world. Hence, those 4 attributes are called 'Atishay.’

1. Apayapagam Atishay:

Apay = Pain, sorrow, Apagam = quash, destroy

Parmatma has completely destroyed all sorrows, pain and suffering of karmas and kashays.

In our daily lives, attachment-aversion, likes-dislikes bother us. However, Paramatma has overcome attachment-aversion and become dispassionate vitaragi. Paramatma himself is not harassed by karma, but the Atishay of Paramatma is so influential that wherever he goes, all diseases and pains within a radius of 125 yojans are destroyed, and no new diseases are formed!

2. Gyan Atishay: 

Even after working hard for the whole year in school, tuition, we may not be able to score 90% plus in the exam. But when it comes to Paramatma?

Arihant Parmatma possesses the knowledge of each and every thing of the world.

Even when you ask Google a question, it might show buffering or “error 404 Not Found”, instead of finding an answer!

Arihant Parmatma has a superpower Google called Kevalgnyan. It shows him all about the past, present and the future. It never comes with a buffer-error or a not-found message!
