Sutra Secret, Panchindiya sutra - My Guru is one who is free from the four Kashayas, anger, pride, delusion, and greed, through which the sansar continuously grows.

Home > Magazine > English Magazine > > Sutra Secret, Panchindiya sutra

चउव्विह-कसाय-मुक्को।:

चउ = Four, व्विह = Kinds of, कसाय = Kashay, मुक्को = Mukt (liberalized).

What is Kashay?

 Kash = Sansar (worldly life), Aay = Gain.

The actions that only increase sansar are called Kashay.

 In the Dashvaikalik Sutra, Pujya Shayyambhav Swami Maharaj writes:

‘चत्तारि एए कसिणा कसाया, सिंचंति मूलाइं पुणब्भवस्स।’

These four Kashays, namely anger etc., act like fertilizer and water, strengthening the roots of the tree of Sansar (worldly life)!

How many Kashays are there, and which ones increase worldly life?

There are 4 types of Kashays: 1. Krodh (Anger), 2. Maan (Ego), 3. Maya (Deceit), and 4. Lobh (Greed).

The One who is free from Kashay is my Guru.
