What is Parvatithi?
According to people, Jainism is very tough and strict. But, it is easy for Jains to follow principles like kandamool tyaga or dinner tyaga.
Abandoning greenery on Parvatithi day is also an important principle of Jains.
What is Parvatithi?
Today every Sadhu-Sadhviji-Sravaka and Sravika are worshiping the five mountain shrines, on that day they do not eat dinner, but instead do Ekasana-Biyasana.
At present there are five Tithiparva worships in a month.
What are the five festivals?
Sud fifth
Sud 8th - Vad 8th
Sud Chaudas - Vad Chaudas
Jains abstain from greenery on five dates. Plus, Jains also abstain from green during important festivals like Paryushan Parva, Ayambil's Oli etc.
Parvatithi gave up what?
Jains abstain from non-food, stale food, dinner every day, but on the Parvathithi day 'green abstinence' is added.
